Established in 1987
The Aberdeen Historical Museum (previously known as the Aberdeen Room Archives and Museum, Inc.) is a small nonprofit 501(c)(3) museum in Aberdeen, Maryland. The Museum connects the Aberdeen community with the area’s rich history to awaken an interest in local history and to inspire new perspectives on the world we live in today.
The Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-1 and on Saturdays from 11-2. We welcome you to stop by to visit our displays, conduct research, and share your stories. The Aberdeen Historical Museum is all volunteer staffed and funded through your generous gifts and donations. Please consider supporting our mission by volunteering, donating, or becoming a member today!
Our Supporters
Because the Aberdeen Historical Museum is donor-based and all volunteer-run,
YOU are the ones who give and do so much.
YOU are the primary supporters of the day-to-day operations of the Museum.
YOU help preserve and share the rich history of the Greater Aberdeen Area
with our community, guests of the area, and future generations.
Thank you so very, very much!
The Aberdeen Historical Museum has been assisted by a grant from the City of Aberdeen for the purpose of digitizing many of our archival files, a number of which are over a century old. We are grateful for their support. We are presently working with the Maryland State Archives on this project.
